Reward Offered For Information About Missing Wedding Ring

Event Details:
EDMOND, Oklahoma - An Edmond couple who say they put their trust in a cleaning crew, took a punch in the gut, instead. Jennifer and Josh Pape are selling their east Edmond home and they hired a pair of housekeepers to clean their house Monday night. Jennifer Pape said about two hours into the cleaning, she noticed her wedding was missing from a drawer in the couple’s bedroom. She said it was also clear someone had rifled through that drawer. It’s not just any wedding ring. The large center diamond is a family heirloom, that has been in Josh Pape’s family for five generations. It is surrounded by 86 smaller diamonds. Josh Pape worked three jobs a decade ago, just to pay for the platinum setting. Both housekeepers denied stealing the ring. When police arrived at the home, the Papes said police found marijuana and paraphernalia hidden in the women’s vacuum cleaner, and methamphetamine in one of the women’s purses. One woman was led away in handcuffs, but the ring still has not turned up, the Papes said. “It’s irreplaceable,” Jennifer Pape sobbed late Tuesday afternoon. “And you know we are expecting our first baby girl next month, and it would be nice to pass it on to her one day. And so we’re asking if anyone who knows anything, that they would come forward.” Edmond police spokeswoman Jennifer Monroe said anyone who knows where the ring is can call 911, and police will come get it. The Papes are also offering a cash reward for the ring. News 9 reporter Steve Shaw said anyone who knows where the ring is may email him at steve.shaw@news9.net if they are more comfortable doing that. “It’s very unique,” said Josh Pape. He’s concerned that the ring has already been pawned off at a local pawn store. “Someone could just exchange it for some immediate cash,” he said. BY STEVE SHAW, NEWS 9
