Edmond investigators are seeking the public’s help in identifying a person who allegedly fraudulently used a senior citizen’s debit card, police said.
Police spokeswoman Glynda Chu said the 83-year-old victim lost her credit card, possibly at Crest, and then it was fraudulently used at an Edmond Target to purchase $2,000 worth of gift cards.
On Sept. 17, between 10-10:30 a.m., the victim was at the Crest at 2200 W. 15th Street buying some groceries, according to a report filed by Edmond Police Officer Jackie Collar. After the victim paid for the items, her debit card must have fallen out of her wallet as she was leaving, police said.
The victim noticed the card missing the next day and she called her bank, police said. She learned that on Sept. 17 the card had been used for a $2,000 purchase at the Target at 1200 E. Second Street, and they had already closed the account because they believed this was a fraudulent charge, police said.
A black male with facial hair wearing a ballcap and a light-colored shirt is shown in a surveillance photograph released by the Edmond Police Department.
Police ask that anyone with information about this incident to call Edmond Police Detective Matt Terry at 359-4491.
