How does it work?

Easy.  You sign up for free.  Once signed up you can add a "Client Location".  In doing so you will be prompted to give your approximate address and specify a "Patrol Radius" around that address.  Whenever a report is filed within this radius you are sent an email notification of the distance the event took place from you and a link to view the report details.

If you are even a victim of crime or need to file a report you may do so.  There is no limit to how many reports you can file, and you can manage your reports and locations when signed into your account.

What are the benefits?

Coming together as a community can help solve crimes, find lost loved ones, lost pets, and lost items.  It also helps to serve as a prevention measure.  Now pawn shops, and others who may purchase items of questionable origin (like cars or copper wire) can now search the reports at CrimeSeen and potentially get information on whether the item is stolen or not.  

What type of reports are there?

(With all reports, you have the option to specify to your community a reward, as well as upload files, pictures and documents that relate to your report.)

1. Crime Report - If you have property that was stolen (even if not at your house) use this report to tell everyone in your area what was stolen and to be on the look out.  This serves to both warn and make others more aware of your loss.
2. Lost Items Report - Sometime things go missing and they are not necessarily stolen.  Use this report to describe lost items, offer a reward for their return, and make others more aware of your loss.
3. Missing Child Report - The appropriate authorities should be contacted immediately for this type of report.  
4. Missing Adult Report - Same as Missing Child Report
5. Lost Pet Report - This report is used when our beloved pets lose their way and we need an immediate notice out to our community to be on the lookout.

How do get removed from your mailing list?

At present, CrimeSeen does not have a mailing list.  If you are receiving notifications of reports filed in your area then that means you have proactively added a client location with a radius.  This is what triggers the notification email.  To stop receiving notifications either reduce the radius around your client location(s) or delete them.  This can be done in your dashboard area. 

So join the community, stay informed, and help your fellow neighbor.  It's free, it's fun and has a positive impact.
