On 7-11-11 at about 1317 hours I responded to 3830 N Maney ave in reference to two subjects stealing an air conditioner unit from a business. While en route displace advised the suspects left, however they were later found at the all metals recycling located at 2646 W Sheridan. I had dispatch advised will rogers so they could send officers to that location while I stayed en route to 3830 N Haney avenue.

While at 38301 N maney I located an air conditioner unit on the south side of the business that had it’s copper tubing cut. MSGT. bunn #1017 was at the recycling center and had both of these subjects in custody. These subjects are indentified as AR-1 Charmello and AR-2 Whitner. MSGT. Bunn said WI-1 King saw both AR’s behind the business and they were attempting to steal the air condition unit I found with cut tubing. MSGT. Bunn said WI -1 Davis along with Wi-1 King decided to go to the recycling center to see if that was where the AR’s were.

Once both WI’s saw both AR’s who were there, they called 911 again to give us their location. I told MSGT. Bunn to send RP-Conrady, who is the owner of the business, to my location so I could speak with him. I spoke with RP-conrady who said WI-1 King owns the business directly across from him. WI-1 King was outside and heard a hissing noise as if a pipe had been cut with gas leaking out. He looked over and saw a white vehicle parked in the parking lot of the business. This business was closed at this time and no should be there.

WI-1 King also saw both AR’s as they got into the white care and left. WI-1 King saw what he believed was an air conditioner unit in the back of the car as AR’s drove by. Tommy mentioned this to WI-2 Davis and he came up with the idea of going to the recycling center to see if that was where the AR’s went. Once there, they located both AR’s cashing in some property. Just after this, other officers arrived and detained both AR’s.

It was later discovered the air conditioner unit in the back of AR’s car was a coil that possibly came of an air conditioner unit. I showed RP-Conrady where AR’s had cut the copper pipe and assumed the AR;s cut it with the intention to steal the unit. However, they probably realized it was too bit to fit in their car. This unit is an industrial unit and is worth over $500.

RP-Conrady said he has them on camera but was unable to show me from his office. However he showed me a still shot of a white male with jeans and a tank top with tattoos on both arms waling behind the business near the air conditioning unit. This suject was identified as AR-1 Charmello. He was wearing jeans with a black tank top and he has tattoos on both arms. RP-Conrady was also unable to provide a copy of the video at this time.

MSGT. Bunn was able to obtain a copy of the customer history report from the recycling center. It was for AR-1 Charmello and it showed he was there several per week since may of this year. MSGT. Bunn also siad WI-2 Davis overheard AR-1 Charmello telling AR-2 Whitner they wished they could have gotten that unit.

Both AR-1 Charmello and AR-2 Whitner were arrested for attempted Grand Larceny. Their vehicle was impounded by Arrow Wrecker with a hold for larceny was place on it.

AR-1 and AR-2 were transported to the Oklahoma County Jail where records showed AR-1 Charmello has a previous felony conviction of of Oklahoma County for manufacturing with intent in 2001. AR-2 Whitner has a felony conviction from woodward county for unlawful delivery of CDS in 2003.

Lt. Lewis #0779 Authorized the hold ofr state charges on both AR’s and they were book in on their listed charges. Lt. Marshall #0601 took photos of air conditioner unit.
